Thomas focuses his practice on emerging companies, venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. Thomas has broad experience representing companies, entrepreneurs and investors from the company formation stage and continuing through the company exit and has served as outside general counsel to a number of clients.
Thomas has represented companies across a wide variety of industries including financial technology, software, life sciences, telecommunications, entertainment and food and beverage, as well as various prominent venture capital firms.
Prior to joining Litwin Kach, Thomas worked at Gunderson Dettmer, a leading venture capital law firm for the technology industry, and Giannuzzi Lewendon, a leading venture capital law firm for the consumer packaged goods industry. Thomas began his legal career at Cleary Gottlieb where he worked on complex corporate transactions representing public companies in Latin America.
As a native Brazilian, Thomas is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish and has broad experience representing Brazilian, Argentinean, Chilean, Mexican and other Latin American companies, entrepreneurs and investors.
Thomas received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.A. from Occidental College in Los Angeles. Thomas is admitted to practice law in New York and California, and is currently based in Miami, Florida where he is seeking admission to the Florida bar.
