Carson specializes in venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, legal issues involving institutions of higher learning, and complex business litigation, including but not limited to intellectual property, antitrust, securities fraud, real estate and commercial disputes. Previously in his career he has been a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division and a partner in several large international law firms. He has also been the outside general counsel for a joint venture of U.S. telecoms, the general counsel and COO of a beverage importing and distribution company and the outside manager of litigation for a NYSE traded company. Carson also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Coe College, where he received a B.A. degree. He received J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Chicago.
